Pros and Cons of various Electric Airsoft AEG's
Tokyo Marui Airsoft Guns
Pros:
-
The fitting of parts is great.
-
Fantastic consistency of quality control.
-
The build of the gearbox parts are spectacular.
-
Gearbox measurements are precise and exact. Gearbox shell is very strong and durable.
-
The pioneer in AEG's, they have many models available for you to consider.
-
Price that is reasonable, considering it's a high quality AEG.
-
The parts are not required to have any modifications done on them.
-
The manufacturer support is high third party.
Cons:
-
Bodies of the AEG's are made out of plastic.
-
Hard to import the AEG's with the trademarks; trademarks are not licensed.
-
No production of upgradable parts for the AEG's they make. They have to rely on other manufacturers for the parts.
Classic Army Airsoft AEGs
Pros:
-
All of their AEG's have installed metal bodies.
-
Licensed trademarks including armalite models.
-
They are a carbon copy of Tokyo Marui models but they have branched out on their own with their production of M249 and the CA 33E series.
-
Unlike Tokyo Marui, they produce parts for upgrades - both external and internal.
-
Pre-upgraded spring installation.
-
Comes with 1 hicap magazine.
Cons:
-
They use poor quality metal that isn't strong enough. The metal can break or crack. They have not made any improvements to solve this problem on their new models.
-
External parts require modifications of other manufacturers. No modifications needed if it's by Classic Army themselves.
-
The gearbox has measurement problems and the gearbox shell wears out over a period of time. If the gearbox doesn't fit properly, it is not a guarantee a third party manufacturer's parts could fit on Classic Army's gearboxes.
-
AEG's are very expensive.
-
Questionable quality control
G&P
Pros:
-
Their M4 AEG's are the most eye catching AEG's on the market.
-
Metal bodies are installed in all of their AEG's.
-
High quality detail and high quality parts.
-
Product support for their AEG's is not a problem, they are a top manufacturer for AEG parts.
Cons:
-
They are expensive.
-
The appearance of the AEG's is absolutely stunning but their gearboxes have some slight problems. Bolting on a Tokyo Marui gearbox should stop the fitting problems.
-
They only produce Airsoft M4 models
