Beginner - How to Gain an Advantage during Airsoft Games?

Me and my friends play Airsoft at an Airsoft field. We play using two teams of 5 players each, and using the game rule of being eliminated once you are hit.

All my buddies use rifles and shotguns, but I only own and use a Colt Double Eagle 90 pistol.

I typically get easily ambushed and find it hard to avoid them for a longer period of time (than it takes for me to find them!)

How can I gain a tactical advantage without buying any new rifles, shotguns, or supply equipment? Thank you!
